A plantingplan for 4 parts of this existing forest garden.
The main idea is to connect the garden to the landscape around by using forms and colors that match and blend well with the forest landscape around while adding a few more cultivated elements to the planting to create a distinction between garden and landscape.
step one is cleaning up the lawn area by restoring the stone wall as a straight neat divider between lawn and slope and then plant the slope with a mixture of plants that grow naturally in the forrest behind: Quercus ilex, Laurus nobilis, Pistaccia lentiscus, Broom interplanted with some Chamearops palms and close to the wall a few single subtle flowering shrubs like Solanum rantonetti.
step 2 Along the driveway up a mixed landscape of groups of compact shrubs in different shades of grey and dark green (Santolina Helichrysum, Cistus Myrtus, Pistaccias thymus for structure and modest flower color. And interplanted with Roses, Kniphofia, Tulbaghia for more color accents.
